About Fran Gallogly

Fran Gallogly Fran Gallogly is a passionate photographer with a focus on landscape, flower, wildlife, and nature photography. She first was captivated by the expressive and artistic qualities of photography in the 1970s when she took classes at a workshop in Connecticut learning to develop and print black and white images from film.

When digital photography became available, she transitioned enthusiastically to that medium and studied under such luminaries in the field as Bryan Peterson, Greg Vaughan, Kathleen Clemons, Scott Stulberg, Charlie Borland, Darwin Wiggett, Samantha Chrysanthou, Ian Plant, Wayne Suggs, Joe McNally, Rick Friedman and Kevin Adams.

Now retired from full-time employment, she is free to further explore and develop her love of this medium. Fran enjoys traveling with her camera and in 2011 spent a month in Namibia, Southwest Africa, photographing desert landscapes, soaring dunes and wildlife. She published her photographs on Blurb in a coffee table book entitled "Namibia." In 2012 she spent time in India and produced a second book (Blurb) called "Faces of India." In 2013 she photographed in Wales, in 2014 in Tuscany and Cinque Terre, in 2015 in the Scottish Highlands, and in 2016 in Zambia. More recently she has photographed in Big Bend National Park (Texas), the Oregon coast, the Columbia River Gorge, the Apostle Islands National Seashore, Katmai National Park (Alaska), Zion National Park, Death Valley, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Great Smoky National Park, Maine, West Virginia and several of the Southeastern coastal states. In 2020 she published a third book (Blurb) , "Fran's Faves."

Her photos have been exhibited in the Fairfield Museum and History Center (CT), The Greater New Haven Arts Council (CT), Jonathan Dickinson State Park's Kimball Gallery (FL), Pequot Library (CT), A.E. Backus Museum (FL), Loft Artists Association (CT), Salmagundi Club (New York City), Carriage Barn Arts Center (CT) and the Westport Senior Center (CT). In 2016 twenty-two of her photos were exhibited at the Kershner Gallery of the Fairfield Library (CT).

She is married with three grown children and two grandchildren and lives in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
